Burnham paves the way for rejoining EU to be in next Labour manifesto - as he blames 'outside forces' for 'manipulating' Brexit vote
Mr Burnham brushed aside the idea that the UK could become an associate member, saying the EU had 'made it clear that that wasn't open to us'.
But he suggested that Brexit had been driven in part by 'outside actors' who had 'manipulated facts'.
He added: 'I'm reflecting on that last decade. What we've experienced is when that turbulence comes when outside actors seek to manipulate, to distort facts, influence the British democratic process.
Will this nonsense never end?
Now it's not stupid white van men behind Brexit, it's 'outside forces' - maybe the Smurfs or those dastardly Russians were at it again!

It's a complete mystery to FNN why remoaners like Burnham can't accept that some people think that Britain is better out of the EU.
It's nothing do with money or racism or immigration - it's to do with control.
Those people who voted for Brexit were in what's called a 'majority' - something that an unelected Prime Minister, like the Mayor of Manchester, is obviously not familiar with.
Why does anyone want to be ruled by a supra-national body that, in reality, does whatever it wants with funds robbed from national tax payers money (or gained in the form of 'fines' - the EU is big on fines)?
The EU is nothing more than a layer of unnecessary bureaucratic overhead.
The original common market was a great idea but the EU has morphed into a monstrous octopus with suckered arms that extend into ever-more countries, gradually squeezing the life out of them while being run by a gangsta crew who are steadily creating the Fourth Reich.
Can you imagine the USA wanting to be in the EU?
