The Atlantic reports:
The Limits of Trump’s Midterm Trickery
For the first time in modern American history, a sitting president is seeking to wield the force of the state to secure an electoral victory for his party. The Trump administration has attempted to undermine the widespread use of mail-in voting; demanded that states hand over voter rolls; threatened to prosecute state and local election officials; refused to rule out the idea of deploying troops or federal agents to polling places; and publicized the dramatic arrests of small numbers of people accused of voting or registering to vote as noncitizens.
These midterms must already be the most bizarre in history.
There is also the case of the Dan Sullivans in Alaska as reported by the FT:

Donald Trump has called for Alaska’s Democratic candidate to be removed from the state’s US Senate race after reports that her campaign recruited other contenders to stack the race in her favour. The US president said on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday that Mary Peltola should be barred from running against Republican Dan Sullivan, after a New York Times report found her campaign had sought to draw voters away from the incumbent senator by persuading another person named Dan Sullivan to enter the race.
Who thought up that wheeze? Probably the same people who fabricated the Steele dossier.
Why the USA persists in expressing outrage at the alleged interference of other countries in their elections (i.e. Russia and the UK) when they are up to their necks in it themselves is baffling.
