Sky News surprisingly reports that the USA is more corrupt than Ukraine:
Asked if this had exposed corruption within senior Ukrainian ranks, Clarke [the Sky 'analyst'] explained:
"There is corruption in Ukraine - of course there is - but when you look at it, it's not as bad as it is in other countries.
"I think at the moment, the United States is more corrupt than Ukraine. I think objectively, you could make that case by looking at the evidence."
Well. Now then.
The USA 'more corrupt than Ukraine' - this is breaking new ground in Ukraine-pandering.
But is it?
Maybe this has something to do with another Sky News story:
https://news.sky.com/story/trump-latest-5-000-midterms-promise-republican-convention-13583590
Donald Trump has vowed to issue a "dividend" of $5,000 to every adult US citizen if the Republicans win the two chambers of Congress - the House of Representatives and the Senate - at the November midterm elections.
"I can make this promise to you. And here is my promise. If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate... because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000."
The 'divi' or bribe, depending on your viewpoint, is quite something. Something even Zelensky or Putin could learn from.
Putin is accused of 'bribing' desperate Russians with bonuses to fight in Ukraine while the Trump promise doesn't even require anyone to go fight anywhere - just vote the right way (for Republicans).
You can tell how worried Trump is about the midterms, not only because of this bribe but that it was announced at the first ever Republican midterm convention, setting a trend that will undoubtedly be followed by post-Trump presidential incumbents.
It's a masterstroke of chutzpah that only Trump could pull off as few if any other Presidents would have the cojones to do it.
And where is the $1.35 trillion to pay for this going to come from?
Best guess is tariffs on Canada or stolen Venezuelan oil or some other under-the-table payment from the EU for not annexing Greenland.
