London Insider reports on the Reform donation row:
Asked whether Reform could ultimately be forced to return the money, Rayner told Sky News it was a “really live question”, adding: “We’re saying that if you don’t pay taxes in, you don’t live here, you can’t buy your way into our democracy because you’re a billionaire.”
Which could easily be re-phrased:
“We’re saying that if you don’t pay taxes in, you don’t live here, you can’t buy your way into our democracy because you’re an illegal immigrant paying a people-trafficker.”
The latest Labour wheeze is to try to make their proposed limitations on political funding retrospective - a cheap and dirty trick - to ensnare Reform and cut it off from these record donations.
It's Trade Union funding and support for political parties that should be looked at first as this largely benefits one party - the Labour party.
So let's make that funding ban retrospective to say 1900?
