The Ukraine Proxy War

Can hardly be called 'hidden' any more

The Dissident has posted a long and useful summary of the shenanigans behind the proxy war in Ukraine so that anyone who still thinks it was provoked by Russia can reconsider.

The Hidden History Of The Ukraine Proxy War For New Skeptics.

Welcome New Ukraine War Skeptics, Here Is A Guide To The History You Were Denied By The Mainstream Media.

The Dissident also reports on how Zelensky is cosying up to Israel (he is a Jew after all) as another means to butter-up Trump and it seems to be working a treat.

You've got to hand it to Team Zelensky - they certainly know how to pull their puppet-master's strings.

In the same post Loony MAGA influencer Laura Loomer is mentioned:

Loomer has explicitly made the case that Ukraine is more friendly to Israel in her advocacy for the proxy war, boasting that “Ukraine is now killing Iranian Islamic terrorists” and even writing, “One thing I really love about Ukraine is I haven’t seen a single Muslim here” in an openly bigoted statement.

Apart from confirming her racism, and ignorance of the history of Crimea in particular, her statement is just plain wrong according to Researching Internal Displacement:

By 2013, Ukraine’s Muslim population was estimated at around 600,000, with over half residing in Crimea and Donbas.

But maybe she's right. She didn't see a single Muslim because no-one took her to a mosque.

Some outlets like Pakistan's the Friday Times claim that Muslims are also being subjected to persecution in Ukraine, even though, according to Loomer, she didn't see any.

And clearly Loomer was not aware that, according to Wikipedia:

the Sheikh Mansur Battalion is one of several Chechen volunteer armed formations participating in the Russian-Ukrainian war on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The battalion is named in honour of Sheikh Mansur, a Chechen military commander and an Islamic leader who fought against the expansion of the Russian Empire into the Caucasus during the late 18th century.

So not only are there no Muslims to see in Ukraine but presumably none have been fighting for Ukraine either.

Ukraine, like Russia, has plenty of Muslims living there, which is not surprising as both Crimea and the Donbas had a large Muslim population and Russia is surrounded by lots of predominantly Muslim nations - you only have to take a taxi in Moscow to know that.

Given that far-right Ukrainian nationalists have at one time or another hated Hungarians, Jews, Poles and Russians - in fact anyone not pure-bred Ukrainian - it seems hard to believe that they welcome Muslims with open arms either.

If far-right Ukrianians nationalists had their way there probably would not be any Muslims (or 'Churkis' as they prefer to call them) 'to see' in Ukraine - along with no Hungarians, Jews, Poles or Russians.

In any case, the new bromance with Israel is likely to make the presence of Muslims in Ukraine even more precarious as Zelensky looks for more ways to impress another 'big daddy'.
