The Dissident reports:

Ukraine Holds State Funeral For A Nazi.

The Nazi in question, Andriy Melnyk, was the former leader of the OUN (Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists), which collaborated with Nazi Germany and its genocide during world war 2.

So in a single act Zelensky has successfully punctured a number of western MSM myths about Ukraine:

  1. Ukraine has no Nazis - it clearly does and it celebrates them.
  2. Putin's desire to de-nazify Ukraine has no basis in reality - it clearly does.
  3. How could a Jewish president celebrate Nazis - he clearly can.

Imagine if 'right-wing thugs' in the UK, or Germany for that matter, had shipped over a Nazi for burial in their countries.

The outcry there would have been! The cries of anti-semitism! The left-wing protests and clashes around the funeral site!

But this Ukraine is where, according to the MSM, the ultra-nationalist far-right has no influence or power.

By this act Zelensky has clearly shown that these myths are nonsense and part of a fake narrative peddled to gullible readers.

The Dissident quotes Ukrainian historian Marta Havryshko:

I never could have imagined that in my country — the country where the Nazis murdered 1.5 million Jews, the country of Babyn Yar, the very symbol of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union, a country that claims to be fighting for “freedom and democracy” — a Nazi collaborator and OUN leader like Andriy Melnyk would be buried with full state honors.

That says it all.

Update 29-05-26:

Now Zelensky has now caused a spat with Poland for renaming a Ukrainian special forces army unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) who massacred Poles in World War Two.
