At last it has become clear why Argentina wants the Falklands back:
Iceland is opening store there!
Sky News reports:
Iceland has confirmed it will open a store on the Falkland Islands, becoming the first UK high street brand to operate there.
The store's opening promotional offers are rumoured to include:
- Argentinian puma steaks (5 for £20 with stripey shirt offer)
- Argentinian corned beef (a jumbo can for £3.50)
- Buenos-Aires tapas (a heat-up selection for £7.50)
- Patagonian lama steaks (with exclusive lama-fur beanie offer)
- A new French frankfurter branded the 'Exocet' which is claimed to explode in your mouth
Iceland's Falklands freezers will be supplied by what is known as a supply-chain 'task force' that will sail every 3 months from the UK.
This is the first step in the Falklands becoming Argentina's premier shopping destination.
