Sky News reports:
The Falklands 'are Argentinian', says president
Exploiting the apparent position of Trump that the US would not support the UK in another Falklands crisis, and because of the oil and gas potential around the islands, the Argentinian President is riding his luck and going on the offensive.
What this shows is that the real threat to British subjects is not Russia at all, it is Trump and his transactional approach to foreign policy.
In fact Argentina was the last real threat to British subjects and sovereignty - not even the Cold War Soviet Union came close to an actual conflict on land, sea and air.
Under Thatcher, the UK responded robustly to the last Argentinian invasion of the islands by sending a military task force and defeating Argentina in a short war in 1982.
Today, the UK would be lucky if a Royal Navy asset could even reach the Falklands without breaking down.
President Milei calls the UK 'occupiers' and want to sanction oil companies that benefit from finds around the Falklands.
All the precedents have already been set in the Ukraine conflict: economic sanctions against 'occupiers', boarding 'shadow fleet' ships to prevent oil shipments, and the need to recover territory occupied by 'separatists' who, in this case, speak English rather than Russian.
What goes around, comes around.
