New vocational qualifications

Sky News reports:

Government announces plans for new V Levels qualification

The government is announcing the creation of new V Levels qualifications for students age 16-19 in what is being billed as a major overhaul of the education system.

The Department for Education says the aim is to give young people "new vocational qualifications tied to rigorous and real-world job standards".

The new V-levels will be offered in three groups of vocational subjects:

  • Valiant - including a V-level in Baristaship
  • Victor - including a V-level in Delivery Driving
  • Vulcan - including a V-Level in Cleaning AI data centers

A new 'V University' to offer the courses will be built at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire.
