Crewe Station Becomes Hotel

New lease of life for Crewe.

Crewe railway station, a major rail transit hub and the 'gateway to the Northwest', is to be converted into a 5-star hotel. This is a key part of Boris Johnson's 'levelling-up' policy for the UK regions.

Crewe's 12 platforms will be converted into rows of luxury rooms connected by overhead walkways. Trains will only stop at Crewe's new 'reception' platform if any passengers have booked a room for the night otherwise they will bypass Crewe to speed through to their destinations in the gritty northwest of England.

A spokesperson for the British Level Up the Regions Program (BURP) told FNN:

For many years now, no-one has wanted to stop in Crewe or go to the Northwest for that matter.

But now with the new Crewe Junction hotel located right on the former platforms, we expect that plenty of people will want to break their journey here to sample the delights of ultra-modern 21st century Crewe.

This is what we mean by levelling up.

By competing with the great railway hotels of Europe such as Canfranc in the Pyrenees, we expect many Americans and visitors from the EU will flock to the new hotel especially as they have never heard of Crewe and it is not even mentioned on Trip Advisor.

Michelle Dewbury, host of GB News Dewbs and Co, commented:

Any chance they could do the same thing for Hull or Cleethorpes?
