Caitlin Johnstone has a great post on narrative control:
All our problems basically come down to narrative control.
People are manipulated into believing the story that Israel’s existence must be preserved at all cost because of this religious belief or that political ideology.
In essence, narrative control has become the main focus of politics and politicians.
It used to be that we in the West could point to authoritarian regimes like China and Russia as exemplars of states that focused on overt narrative control.
Now it's us: for the EU, Israel, the UK and USA narrative control is what it's all about and actually doing much to help electorates takes second place to controlling the narrative and combating 'disinformation', which is usually anything that conflicts with the official/MSM narrative.
It's not even being done covertly any more but increasingly overtly as if to get consumers of official narrative fodder used to more and more overt control.
As a result it has become almost impossible for most people who are not scanning the mainstream and 'dissident' media 24/7 to escape living in a world of controlled narratives.
Narrative control is now the primary means of controlling you and your thinking.
Think on't as Councillor Duxbury would say.
