EU, Canada and Lithuania pull out of disinformation conference after US pressure
The Trump administration was bothered by panels that referred to the U.S. as a disinformation threat.
The reason? The USA was framed as a FIMI:
The conference, titled #Disinfo2026, included sessions that described the U.S. as a “foreign information manipulation and interference” actor, or “FIMI,” which bothered the Trump administration, according to the cable. The conference is being held Wednesday and Thursday in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital.
Oh dear. The USA lumped in with all those dastardly disinfo rogues like Russia and China.

Yet the EU has pulled out of it own disinformation conference because it feared it would spread disinformation about the USA as a FIMI!
