This wikipedia claim is known to be complete bullshit - especially now that Tulsi Gabbard is doing an audit of US biolabs and guess what?
Among these facilities, more than forty are located in Ukraine.

Even back in March 2022, then-U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland confirmed the existence of biological research sites in Ukraine. She was worried about pathogens getting into the hands of the Russians and being used for provocations in Ukraine.
But why was she worried if these pathogens were not harmful?

Even Pete Hegseth is quoted as saying:
“The prior administration bankrolled dangerous Gain-of-Function research and foreign biolabs with American tax dollars, then deliberately hid it from the American people,” Hegseth said in a statement.
So Russia was right after all.
Now, over the last few years, to keep them 'out of sight, out of mind', the USA has been quietly moving biolabs to Africa.
It's irrelevant whether these biolabs are actually developing illegal bioweapons or not - even benevolent research into pathogens and gain-of-function research can quickly be flipped to turn the results into weapons - like COVID, in effect, became.
Gabbard, who became Director of National Intelligence in February 2025, remarked:
“The COVID-19 pandemic clearly demonstrated the catastrophic global consequences that can result from research on dangerous pathogens in bio-laboratories.”
The fake MSM narrative attempted to bullshit everyone at the start of the COVID pandemic that the virus appeared out-of-nowhere in a wet-food market in Wuhan by neglecting to mention that Wuhan also hosted a partly western-funded gain-of-function biolab nearby that was well-known to many including COVID 'luminaries' like Anthony Fauci and had been doing covert gain-of-function research on coronaviruses for years.
Yet another strand of the fake Ukraine narrative unravelling.
