UKR Media News reports on Iuliia Mendel - Zelensky's sanctioned former press secretary - who is now shunned as a 'turncoat':
Mendel was barred from entering the European Parliament ahead of his [Neuhaus] speech at an AfD event
She was supposed to talk about «peace rather than escalation»
The event was held under the title «Ukraine: taking the plunge into peace. Diplomacy rather than escalation». It was organised by representatives AfD, whilst MEP Hans Neuhaus was listed among the participants.
The European Parliament has not publicly confirmed that it was the Ukrainian sanctions that led to Mendel being barred from entering the building. Therefore, for the time being, this remains her own version of events.
But maybe her calling Zelensky a 'dictator' had something to do with it as Kyiv Independent reported:
Iuliia Mendel has been all-in in her attempt to discredit her former boss, President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling him "a dictator" and "the greatest obstacle to peace" in Ukraine.

'Scum' seems to be the word 'du jour' these days.
As FNN reported, the Dutch Prime Minister called some of his own Dutch people 'scum' recently but no-one is sanctioning him.

Today, it seems like no-one can criticise anything or anybody in 'democratic' Ukraine without the threat of sanctions either from Ukraine or the EU.
This kind of response to criticism is really quite unprecedented - even Israeli newspapers criticise their government.
There have been many books and articles and blog posts critical of President Trump but as far as FNN knows, no-one has been sanctioned for them despite Trump being one of the most bombastic, lawfare presidents ever.
Stifling opinions and banning people and political parties is never a good idea unless of course you want to emulate the Third Reich, which apparently some people have chosen to do in the EU, Germany and Ukraine.
Whatever you may think of Mendel, unlike Ed Sheeran's weepy apology over the Gazacide, Mendel is exhibiting real personal courage with her statements and actions so it's quite hard to believe that she would put her life in danger just to peddle nonsense.
