Rapporteur reports:
BELGRADE – Serbia’s acting president Ana Brnabić has challenged the composition of a European Parliament mission observing Sunday’s parliamentary elections, particularly its Austrian leader, MEP Andreas Schieder.
In a letter sent on Tuesday to the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, Brnabić accused several members of a delegation due to visit Serbia from 22 to 26 October of being politically biased.
Oh dear.
The EU is sending a delegation led by people who are known not to be big fans of the current Serbian administration, instead of purely neutral observers - if in fact such people could be found in the EU.
A bit like sending Kaja Kallas to observe a Russian election, you kinda know what to expect.
There's always the possibility of another Maidan-type election from the Ukraine playbook and maybe that's what this is all about.
