Politico reports:
US push to flood Balkans with American gas sparks concerns in Brussels
Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina have all signaled interest in buying large volumes of liquefied natural gas from the U.S. or in building infrastructure to support inflows. The countries say gas is needed as a transitional fuel as they reduce both Russian fuel imports and coal consumption, and switch to renewables, all of which are key prongs of their EU membership bids.
This time the EU is claiming it is the USA weaponizing gas supply to the Balkans to undermine the EU's green energy initiatives.
But of course no-one is calling this 'weaponization' as it's not being done by Russia.
If it was then time to bang the good ol' weaponization drum.
Obviously the USA wants to create a 'dependency' on US gas supplies otherwise what was the point of all that hoo-hah in Kosovo as it wasn't only about building a massive US military base there.
