So far HS2 has cost even more than the UK donated to Ukraine to help buy weapons to kill more Russians and Ukrainians and is not expected to come into service before we are all speaking Russian - if the Defence Ministry and MSM narrative of an imminent Russian invasion of the UK is to be believed.
In the last 10 years China has built thousands of miles of high-speed rail, often running on elevated tracks and serviced by brand-new stations as big as Heathrow terminals. Anyone who has actually been to China will confirm this. It is not fake news.
But instead of letting the Chinese build HS2 in a year as a student engineering project, the UK insisted on doing it themselves to avoid China having control over a key piece of UK infrastructure, a few miles of railway between London and Birmingham.
