The Dissident reports:
The 'War On Terror' Was A Scam.
The Trump Administration Wants To Remove The Al Qaeda Led Government In Syria Off The State Sponsor Of Terrorism List.
The War on Terror was a scam; it was never about fighting Al Qaeda or ISIS, but was about destabilizing countries that got in the way of Israel-American dominance of the Middle East.
And concludes:
The reality is that the “war on terror” was always a scam, designed to advance the Greater Israel project and the Project for a New American Century’s imperial vision.
The Afghan resistance in the Soviet war in Afghanistan, supported and supplied by the CIA's Operation Cyclone, ended up creating both Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden as tools and then enemies of the USA.
If you want a succinct summary of how the scam 'war on terror' has morphed in the 21st century you can do no better than this quote from the influential PNAC paper, Rebuilding America’s Defences: Strategy, Forces and Resources For a New Century:
The Cold War world was a bipolar world; the 21st-century world is – for the moment, at least – decidedly unipolar, with America as the world’s ‘sole superpower.’ America’s strategic goal used to be containment of the Soviet Union; today the task is to preserve an international security environment conducive to American interests and ideals. The military’s job during the Cold War was to deter Soviet expansionism. Today its task is to secure and expand the ‘zones of democratic peace;’ to deter the rise of a new great-power competitor; defend key regions of Europe, East Asia and the Middle East; and to preserve American preeminence through the coming transformation of war made possible by new technologies.
And those aims are certainly not a scam as recent events have proven.
The gargantuan effort by the USA to maintain US unipolarity is the defining and dominating international relations issue of the present and the near future.
Everything it does - especially the current Trump administration - is dedicated to this task: supporting Israel and Ukraine, regime-changing around the world, protecting Taiwan, switching the EU to dependence on US energy, coveting Greenland.
It's all done under the guise of promoting and protecting democracy but everyone know this is just a convenient cover story for preserving US unipolarity at all costs, even if sometimes you have to kick your allies e.g. in NATO to get them to back the program.
For many US unipolarity is all that really matters and without it, the world collapses into anarchy, authoritarianism and chaos.
For others US unipolarity was a brief and unexpected 'moment' in history and a moment that is already flailing around in its death throes.
