Trump says he’ll ask Europe to pay back US for munitions sent to Ukraine
President Donald Trump said the federal government will ask Europe to pay it back for munitions given to Ukraine under former President Joe Biden, as the White House grapples with dwindling stocks of munitions with its war in Iran now stretching into its seventh month.
“Hundreds of Billions of Dollars was given to Ukraine and NATO, free of charge, that Europe would have paid for — If they were only asked, but we will be asking for that money, though somewhat belatedly!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday, in a series of posts defending the size of the munitions stockpile and blaming Biden for any shortfall.
So before the war has even ended the USA is demanding reparations - from Europe!
Whether he will get it or not is another matter but this is yet another headache for the 'coalition of the willing' who were all willing for the USA to bankroll Ukraine while Biden was in office.
The EU and the UK are still under the impression that eventually Russia will pay reparations for its part in their proxy war and this will be used to payback their contributions for provoking, provisioning and prolonging the war.
Dream on!
Now it looks like even if Russian does pay any reparations, which is hardly likely, those reparations would be used to pay back the USA.
In fact that would be a great Trump deal: any reparations Russia pays are paid directly to the USA!
