If Europe had acted as a 'power' it would not have switched to energy dependence on more expensive US fracked gas, it would have cared when someone blew up the Nordstream pipeline and when people in a nearby state i.e. Ukraine were being oppressed by their own state for years just for speaking the state's majority language.
But it did none of these things.
Europe is not a power, it is a US lapdog that tries to pretend it isn't and is slowly waking up to the fact that it is.
Anyway, Macron is following in Canada's Mark Carney's footsteps so this is all yada, yada, yada or blah, blah, blah if you prefer.
