Hawaay with History!

BBC's King and Conqueror goes woke

In the BBC's latest historical drama King and Conqueror, the Earl of Morcar will be played by black actor Elander Moore. Apparently there are not enough white Northumbrians left to take on the role. Just sayin'.

Other casting choices include:

  • William the Conqueror played by an Algerian from Paris
  • Harald Godwinson played by a Hawaian from Honolulu
  • The Anglo-Saxon shield wall populated by fearsome Scottish lesbians
  • Norwegian viking Harald Hardrada played by an imposing Tutsi from Rwanda

William's invasion fleet will be provided by Albanian people traffickers and at a bargain rate to BBC license payers.

The Domesday Book is being reframed as an accounting of all the old white men that William wanted to eliminate in order to replace them with foppish French courtiers.

Yes, history is alive and well and it's good to see the BBC taking on the multi-cultural dimensions of the Norman conquest.
