Time for a Chit?

Right now...potatoes are chitting themselves.

Unlike humans, potatoes can thrive without chitting. But like humans, potatoes can benefit from at least a short spell indoors, preferably in a warm toilet or bathroom in order to have a chit.

A chit is a sprout that emerges from the potato and brings forward its harvest date and encourages an early yield.

A spokesperson for the Potato Marketing Board joked:

To chit or not to chit? That is the question.

Here at FNN we always advise going for a chit rather than avoding chitting altogether as this can have unexpected consequences when you are on a bus or in some other public place for example.
