As the USA exit the 2026 World Cup after being beaten 1-4 by Belgium, President Trump has announced a raft of new tariffs:
- 100% tariff on Belgian chocolates
- 100% tariff on Belgian waffles
- 100% tariff on Belgian beer
The White House denied that the tariffs were anything to do with Belgium and everything to do with the fact that 'Belgian stuff is crap'.
A spokesperson told FNN:
How can Belgium even be in a 'world cup' when they are not in the baseball 'world series'? It makes no sense.
In another announcement, a major games manufacturer has announced a new board game called Overturn This!
Players compete by using their football knowledge to answer questions correctly to move around the board and avoid getting a red card.
A red card means the player must correctly answer a penalty question from each of the other players, known as a 'shootout'.
If they cannot overturn their card by answering their penalty questions correctly, they get a Golden Boot and exit the game.
However, if the red carded player can pull a special orange 'Trump card' from the pack of questions then they are automatically re-instated and instead every other player must answer a penalty question correctly to stay in the game or draw their own 'Trump card'.
Overturn This! is endorsed by FIFA and Mar-A-Lago Enterprises and is expected to go on sale at Christmas with a share of the profits going to the Gaza Board of Peace to train Palestinian footballers relocated to holiday camps in Somalia.
