Boos greeted the award of the Westphalian Peace prize to NATO, the bombers of Belgrade (among other places).
NATO received the award on October 1 in the historic town hall of the German city. The award was accepted by Rutte, and Merz gave the speech at the presentation. Before the ceremony on Domplatz, protesters gathered under the slogan "Peace instead of NATO – no award for the military alliance“.
According to German police, about 120 people took part in the protest. The Berlin newspaper reported that between 30 and 40 demonstrators interrupted the appearance of Merz, Rutte and the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst in front of the city hall. There were boos and chants of “Murderers“.
Presumably from far-right AfD supporters, the party the Mekon (Merz) now claims is backed by Russia. What a surprise.
This seems to be the last-resort position of washed-up politicians under pressure and borrowed directly from the Hillary Clinton playbook - remember her?
Next we can expect a 'Stahl' dossier to mysteriously appear in Germany full of unsubstantiated 'facts' to further undermine the AfD.
Regarding NATO, let's face it, Rutte is no peacemaker, wishing he could be leading regime change in Iran:
Why are the Americans doing it, taking out the Iranian nuclear capability? Because we can't. But in the future, we have to make sure that, as Europeans, we can do this ourselves.
Belgrade was doable as Serbia was a much weaker nation that NATO could bully but Iran is a little out of his league - for now that is until the Fourth Reich takes off.
Does he even realise what he is saying?
Ukraine in NATO is NOT a threat to Russia (that is next door) but Iran IS a threat to Europe (which is thousands of kilometers away).
These guys live in a world of their own - unfortunately we live in it too.
