Sky News reports:
Ukraine-Sweden defence deal announced
To Uppsala now, where Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson have been speaking inside an air hangar about the defence package being signed between the two nations.
As a first step, Sweden will transfer 16 Gripen jets currently used by the Swedish Air Force, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2027, Kristersson said.
Kyiv then intends to purchase the newest version of the aircraft (Gripen E) using €2.5bn (£2.1bn) from the European Union's Ukraine Support Loan mechanism.
Gone are the days when Sweden was a neutral country, like in WW2, when Europe was faced not with the so-called 'threat' from Russia but with the actual threat of Hitler's Germany occupying most of Europe and encircling Sweden on its Norwegian and Finnish borders.
Now Sweden is part of NATO and has deliberately put itself in the firing line.
Sweden needs to remember that old adage: you reap what you sow.
