Sky News reports:
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians turn out for the funeral procession of late supreme leader
Waghorn says he thinks the Iranian authorities "will be satisfied with the spectacle they have managed to put on here - a massive show of sympathy for Ali Khamenei".
What exactly does a headline like this mean?
First it reduces the funeral of Iran's late - and assassinated - leader to a mere 'spectacle'.
Second it gives the impression that somehow the authorities have managed to force hundreds of thousands of Iranians to turn out to mourn the killing of their leader, although how is a good question.
Even the former Shah's hated secret police was probably not that powerful.
Third it conveys the impression that paying respects to a dead person is just a 'show of sympathy' - in other words not genuine.
What this headline really signifies is pure racism: Lots of towel-heads turned out for the funeral of another towel-head.
So what.
Their funerals are just 'spectacles' and 'shows' not to be taken seriously unlike the funerals of, say, JFK or Queen Elizabeth II.
This is a new racist low even for the MSM.
