The BBC reports:
BBC witnesses 'taxi boat' picking up migrants multiple times in a day
A BBC investigation has found smuggling gangs are running low on small boats, forcing rival gangs to have to work together to meet demand for crossings.
The new Albanian illegal migrant cross-channel taxi service has its own app - known affectionately as 'Norman Wizz' - that allows travellers to:
- book a crossing on either a small or 'mega' boat
- schedule a private meet-up with the UK Border Force to discuss an asylum application
- specify your preferred asylum center or hotel and book a ride to get there
- earn 'Channel' points for repeated crossings with a free crossing for every 100 points
- schedule a session at the newly opened Edwina Massage Parlour in Oxfordshire
- download lots of useful content to avoid being deported
The app has already passed 1 million downloads so the new taxi service is expected to rival Uber and Bolt soon.
