Caitlin Johnstone reports:
They're Setting Up AI Surveillance To "De-Radicalize" Classrooms In Gaza
A US-based nonprofit is planning to use AI surveillance to check for “hateful” speech about Israel inside classrooms in the genocide-ravaged Gaza Strip.
If true, this is really unbelievable, and not just for the obvious reasons discussed in the post.
Recording children’s chatter to 'de-radicalize' them would certainly win the Orwell Big Brother Prize.
Presumably once 'hateful' talk is identified the children will need to be 're-educated' somehow.
This is not just about rooting out 'anti-semitism' - whatever that means - but gives an indication of where things could go in the classrooms of the future as conversations are monitored and mined to 'root-out':
- anti-semitism
- Islamophobia
- right-wing tendencies
- pro-Russian tendencies
- homophobia
- transphobia
- etc etc
Children's chatter is another wonderful 'data source' for AI to train on and to justify AI-led 'interventions'.
Is this the world that people who value childhood would want to live in?
Disgraceful!
