Walliams Dropped

For inapproriate behaviour

The Independent reports:

HarperCollins is set to phase out remaining copies of David Walliams’s books after announcing last year that they would no longer publish him.

The book publisher said last year that it had dropped the children’s author following reports that he was accused of behaving inappropriately towards young women. Walliams strongly denies any claims and said at the time that he had not been informed about an investigation by HarperCollins.

Now FNN is no big fan of Walliams but this decision is highly questionable.

Does this mean - for example - that no more books will be published by actual convicted criminals?

For example one-time convicted armed robber John McVicar's (RIP) book McVicar by Himself, a bestseller when it was first published, is still available to buy from Amazon.

And you can still buy copies of a book called 'Mein Kampf' - admittedly not written for children although no-one took much notice of it at the time.

This sounds a lot like the Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton witchunts.

Here it seems the 'hanger' for this latest wokery-pokery is 'young women', as opposed to other favorites such as 'anti-semitism' or 'racism'.

Apparently children love these books, isn't that enough?

Or does every parent now need to read their child a 'trigger' warning before every book?
