Much to many people's chagrin, maybe especially Hillary Clinton's, Julian Assange is back on X.
Assange, free since his 2024 U.S. plea deal and return to Australia, shared the photo quoting WikiLeaks on September 17, drawing millions of views. His wife, Stella, confirmed the account's revival and teased more updates next week. Supporters hailed him as a hero for WikiLeaks' document leaks, while discussions recalled his years in the Ecuadorian embassy, prison time, and quotes like 'I am free today after years of incarceration because I plead guilty to journalism.' Glenn Greenwald praised him as one of the century's most courageous figures.
Welcome back.
