Veneer of Democracy

A very merry unelection to you

Sky News reports on Kaja Kallas's comments after the recent 'sham' elections in Russia:

'Veneer of democracy all that remains in Russia'

As part of Russia's recent elections, votes were held in parts of some occupied Ukrainian regions.

Well at least it's a veneer, Ms. Kallas.

The veneer of democracy was stripped off years ago in Ukraine.

She has conveniently forgotten that Zelensky refuses to even hold an election in 'democratic' Ukraine and even those Ukrainians who care about the country are now calling him a 'dictator'.

She has also conveniently forgotten that the Maidan coup deposed a democratically elected government and replaced it with something that a lot of people in eastern Ukraine did not vote for.

Maybe Ukraine should emulate Alice in Wonderland and hold an 'unelection' every day of the year?

The jolly Unelection Song celebrates the concept of unelections, turning the absence of a election into a reason for celebration with a slice of lard and a shot of vodka and a toast to Ms. Kallas.

A very merry

Unelection to you,

To you, A very merry

Unelection to you,

To you,

It's great to

Drink to someone,

And I guess that

You will do,

A very merry

Unelection to you!
