Stop the Boats

No. Not the ferries to France.

Sky News reports:

Dozens of masked men stop traffic at Port of Dover as part of 'protest'

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of developing events in Dover.

Dozens of masked men have turned up at the Port of Dover as part of what police have described as a "protest".

Traffic going in and out of the port has been blocked as a result.

All sounds a bit like the BLM/Antifa protests in the USA except without the weapons, looting and killings.

It's a good job the Sky News correspondent moaning about the AfD rally in Germany wasn't at one of the BLM/Antifa 'protests' in the USA as she might not just have been pushed and shoved but she could have been shot.

But back to Dover.

Naturally this must have been intimidating for locals and inconvenient for travellers but illegal immigration is an issue that some people actually care about.

What always seems to get lost in these 'migration nation' reports is that no-one cares about legal immigration, they care about illegal immigration. Legal immigrants are typically not trafficked by gangs and subject to sexual enslavement or debt enslavement or both.

After the usual, easy 'right-wing thugs' type framing, Sky at least added some welcome balance to this report:

But another reader said: "Have been stuck in the protest this morning. I went up to them as a female alone at the front, none were intimidating, very polite to me, had a chat with them, helped me to find a toilet for my daughter.

"Then allowed our car through as we had children and all waved bye to us as we passed through them."

Another person affected said: "Yes, been affected but don’t care because I totally agree with them and good on them".

A witness further contacted us to say there were also some masked women among the crowd, not just men.

Even so, Sky couldn't resist a little humour:

The slogan "stop the boats" is thought to refer to the issue of migrants crossing the English Channel in inflatable boats.

Haha. You don't say!

Actually the issue is not migrants crossing the English Channel.

The issue is illegal migrants crossing the English Channel.

As usual, deliberate language is being used to serve a purpose: to conflate illegal migration with legal migration when they are completely different things.

Interesting?
