At the Warsaw Security Forum, the top NATO commander is speaking now.
After Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke this morning, US General Alexus Grynkewich, the NATO Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, warned:
"If someone is foolish enough to attack us, we will fight."
He insisted that he did not believe conflict was "imminent or inevitable", but said NATO is "ready to fight, tonight" if attacked.
Well that's good to hear. A military alliance is ready to fight. Isn't that sort of what it is meant to do?
But nobody has been saying they are foolish enough to attack NATO so this is just a performance.
