Sky News reports:
Five men were arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act near RAF Fairford early yesterday morning.
Andy Burnham described the incident as "deeply concerning" for local residents and many people in the UK.
The Spectator newsletter reports:
Detectives are now investigating whether Iran is linked to the plot, raising concerns the planned attack could have been retaliation for Fairford’s use by the US air force as a staging post for strikes in the Middle East.
What is deeply concerning about this incident is that nobody seems concerned that this base could have been used to assist in bombing Iran as part of an illegal war and maybe killing over 100 schoolchildren.
What is deeply concerning is that we are now in world that does not expect consequences for its actions when those actions include supplying weapons to kill people in foreign lands in illegal wars.
What is deeply concerning is that it takes a farmer to call the MoD to warn them that one of their bases may be under attack.
Some have already suggested that the gang of men arrested (British nationals) were nothing more than than a gang stealing oil.
That's not that unusual in the countryside due to the price of oil going through the roof as a result of the illegal US/Israeli war against Iran.
Rather ironic really if it turns out to be oil-stealing and not an Iranian plot.
