The Problem with AI

No pay-to-learn

A problem with AI that few people seem to recognize is that AI hasn't and doesn't pay for its learning.

When an AI is trained, in most cases, it does not pay for this training (unless contractually obliged to) like a human would do.

When an AI is used it does not differentiate between learning and re-using and so it does not pay for ongoing learning as a result of it being used.

Pay-to-learn would change the dynamic of AI and the cost-basis.

The economics of AI would be closer to reality but the potential profit picture for AI businesses substantially reduced.

So don't expect pay-to-learn to be the norm anytime soon - if ever.
