Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro and wife deny new torture charges as 'false accusations'
The ousted Venezuelan president and his wife pleaded not guilty in court to new charges that they led a state-sponsored repression campaign that tortured its victims.
Note the use of the word 'ousted' instead of 'illegally kidnapped by US special forces from his own country'.
Originally accused of cocaine smuggling:
The couple now face accusations of leading a state-sponsored repression campaign that tortured scores of victims, including three Americans.
Maduro allegedly oversaw a violent torture system under which victims were beaten, asphyxiated, and given electric shocks, the new indictment said.
Sound familiar?
The same kind of stuff that happened during the good old war-on-terror rendition days under George W Bush.
But he is not on trial.
The same kind of stuff that happened in multiple South America regimes backed by the USA.
But those presidents are not on trial.
The same kind of stuff that is happening now during the Gazacide under Netanyahu.
But he is not on trial (yet).
It's obvious to anyone that this trial is nothing more than a Soviet-era show trial with no basis in reality.
This is why the USA is not signed up to the ICC - because it considers itself to be the ICC.
