The Guardian reports:
Starmer accuses Musk of trying to ‘whip up division’ in UK over Henry Nowak murder
PM says Britons are ‘reasonable, tolerant people’ and backs MP’s legal action against Grok firm over fake sexualised images.
Meanwhile, in a claim submitted to the high court in London, Asato [Labour MP Jess Asato] said xAI – now a subsidiary of SpaceX, which also owns X – breached laws connected to data protection and the misuse of private information by letting users of the site prompt Grok to create such images.
Asato has said that as well as creating images of her in a bikini, Grok produced a video “showing her being chloroformed and prepared for a sexual assault”.
Now nobody is denying that this is not nice to be subjected to whether it is Asato or Starmer in the bikini shot.
But the strange thing is that you can find images like this - not deepfake AI-images - but real ones involving real-live people on almost any mainstream porn site but no-one seems to be complaining about that unless - and quite rightly - it involves children.
And, according to many reports, dog rapes and other shocking humiliations are being perpetrated by Israel but Starmer doesn't seem to be complaining about that either.
This AI/Musk-outrage seems to be an obvious deflection from what the real outrage should be about.
Apparently real adult porn and dog rapes are OK but deepfakes are not?
Presumably because real porn implies agency and 'empowerment' whereas deepfakes do not and being raped by a dog is really not as bad as being deepfaked in a bikini?
What a tangled web we weave.
