Hardly.
The Maidan started peacefully as a protest against the Yanukovych government and then turned into a coup as western regime change 'influencers' piled in and ultra-nationalists shot a few protestors from nearby hotels to up the ante.
This time nobody from the EU or the USA is in town (e.g. in Paris or Hamburg) to whip up dissent against the hugely unpopular governments of the Micron (Macron) and the Mekon (Merz) - among others - with the intention of forcing democratically elected leaders to flee their countries and seek sanctuary elsewhere.
As you watch these protests/riots, depending on your viewpoint, you wonder why the UK wants to rejoin the EU when its own citizens are revolting?
But we have the leaders we deserve - the same people who are throwing a hissy fit about appearing in a G20 group photo with Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
This is the politics of the playground, not the real world, but then these are not grown-ups.
I don't remember any G20 leaders refusing photo-ops with Israel's Netanyahu despite all he is responsible for including starting a war on Iran that has resulted in sky-high energy prices in many, if not all, G20 countries.
MSN reports:
A UK Government source told the Press Association: “We were not going to take part in any official picture with the Russian foreign minister.”
They added: “The Foreign Secretary is here in Atlanta focused on the global challenges that are driving up costs for people at home.
Er...hello...earth to Miliband...
The 'global challenge' that is 'driving up costs for people at home' is nothing to do with Russia but with the US/Israelis starting an illegal war on Iran.
The cheap shot of a photo denial pales in comparison to accepting that some countries do what they like in the world and the G20 can do nothing whatever about it.
A bunch of losers.
